Dr. Adamek is the Director of the Ph.D. Program in Social Work at Indiana University in Indianapolis. As a member of the first cohort of Hartford Geriatric Social Work Faculty Scholars, Dr. Adamek conducted a study focusing on depression among long-term care residents. Her research interests center around aging in Sub Saharan Africa. Dr. Adamek earned her BS in Social Work in 1982 from the University of Dayton, her MSW from Washington University in 1983, and her PhD from Case Western Reserve University in 1989. She completed a one year postdoc at the University of Michigan focused on applied issues in aging research.
